On 22 April, Kamerkoor JIP organised with the Hague Peace Projects the concert “Op Doortocht” – Moving Cultures. The concert reflected a night full of culture: new and authentic compositions, poetry and visual arts. The audience heard music from people on the move; travelers who choose a nomadic life and travelers who were forced to leave their homeland. The music differed from melodies of the Masai, the Inuit, nomads from Mongolia and Spanish gypsies to music from the Middle East.
Prior to the concert, the journey began with an exhibition of refugee artists and poets. Together with musicians from Syria, the chamber choir JIP carried the audience through music from all over the world and new works by young, talented composers, who have written compositions especially for JIP, inspired by traveling people from different continents.
